Had a workshop on composite image and green screen today, this was my first attempt and I’m pretty pleased with it.

Starting to think about where to go from here, for the next term. In my work I’ve been looking a lot at the hidden figures behind our contemporary world, both real and imagined. For next term I want to focus directly on these figures and the idea of fetish objects and effigies
The other poem I am thinking of using in the animation, however I feel the tone is not quite right
One of my final poems that may end up in the animated video

Serena Korda, The Fertility Orbit of the Boob Meteorite, (n.d.)
After listening to her talk and now seeing her work, I love the way she plays with ritual, costume and superstition. So much of what she does is what I’m interested in.
Moving on to next term I want to explore the more physical/sculptural side of contemporary spirituality and the ‘digital dark age’. One suggestion at the group crit was installation – this could be an interesting direction
—> over holidays begin to construct small effigies (use polymer clay)
Serena Korda’s jugs, part of her ‘Jug Choir’ and inspired by 16th century belamine jugs

The final shot from my forthcoming animation, of all of the shots this is my favourite and the strongest stand alone piece
Elizabeth Price, The Woolworths Choir of 1979, Turner Prize winner 2012

TRUE TO SIZE, part 1: AFTERLIFE by Heather Phillipson
recommended in the group crit, the poetry and imagery is very pertinent to my project
