These drawings are really intriguing, the blend of the animal and human forms a surreal alternate world.
I want to do some drawings before the end of term. I feel the visceral, bodiness of the works is something to bear in mind when I’m thinking about how to move from collage to drawing/sculpture.

I loved listening to this artist talk to us during my foundation year. Her design and aesthetic really stayed with me, she let me know that surreal, creepy and kitschy go together. Something I’ve admired and tried to take forward is her use of low-end materials to create other-worldly sculptures
Although similar to the other Fred Wilson video, I feel this one gives more insight into his use of historical artefacts and figures to critique the societal structures of the past and present.

The way the masks create role, expression and character is really intriguing and very applicable to my work this term. I feel like this is a really good way to carry my project through to next term without it becoming contrived
Explore the use of masks and make my own over the holidays, then refine into a small series next term
Materials to experiment with: concrete, plaster, textile, cardboard
