Postcards sent in anonymously to the ongoing community art project ‘PostSecret’ that have been posted on their website: https://postsecret.com/
I saw a book they published containing a curated selection of the postcards over the holidays and I think that’s why I’ve been wanting to use a postcard format for my instruction cards
Hildegard Westerkamp, Kits Beach Soundwalk, 1989
interesting look at influence on artificial sound on our experience of nature and on nature itself

The island of Mou Waco on Lake Wanaka, this island has it’s own lake (hard to see in the photo), which the Maori that lived in the area believed was sacred as it had healing properties
— another place where the worlds come together, where you can push through. Like the glow worm caves, transcendent

Tesla charging points attached to an old petrol pump
— found it really visually striking and reminded me of my interest in old-world/new-world frictions and dissonance. Strangely beautiful too, the start (or middle?) of a history
— also interesting for two worlds colliding (BTS), the old and new coexist
Interesting structures, textures, forms and shapes I’ve seen over the last week or so — really like the candle wax for a costume-type piece
Hundreds of Cairns at Fantail Falls, New Zealand
Found a ‘real Japanese shrine, entry $5’
— this trip has enabled me to see sacred places like the ones I’ve made art about, this waterfall felt like a sacred place was being created (no Maori history as far as I know)
